Hi guys! My name is Meg and I am here to celebrate the new release of my novel, The Alpha’s Scarred Mate.

This story has taken quite the journey. It all began with the release of my short story, The Alpha’s Birthday Gift, in January, 2017. It was supposed to be a short one-shot, but that quickly changed. The characters grew in my head and demanded at least three books because they were quite adamant that their story deserved more than one novel. And hence, Remy and Colby now have three stories.

The Alpha’s Scarred Mate is #1 in their series, while the original short story has been changed to align with Scarred Mate. Birthday Gift is now free too, which is very exciting, and you can find the link at the back of Scarred Mate!

Their second book, The Alpha’s Miracle Baby, is coming out in November this year, while the third will be out in December. Then, we’ll get to see a Christmas story with them (yay!) and January begins with another couple from the Dog Hills Pack. Overall, we’ll be seeing these bunch of shifters quite a lot! I’m so excited for you guys to meet my boys.

As a thank you for letting me blog here and say hello, I bring a cute, short story about Remy and Colby. This story is set between The Alpha’s Scarred Mate and The Alpha’s Birthday Gift, and shows the origin of their little wrestling game! I hope you enjoy!

Tap Out Three Times
Remy frowned down at Mozzie, his hands on his hips. “What did you do?”

The dog tilted his head from left to right and his pink tongue lolled out, a piece of bacon falling onto the floor. Then, he whined and laid on the tiles. He looked miserably between Remy and the bacon with those big puppy dog eyes.

“Did your daddy give you that?” Remy asked. He couldn’t fight back the smile. Mozzie was just too damn cute.

Mozzie raised his head, his tongue lolling out again now that Remy’s voice had changed tone. He whined, but this time it wasn’t because he was in trouble.

Remy snorted. “I’ll take that as a yes. Go on, don’t let it go to waste, right?”

The bacon disappeared before Remy could blink. Mozzie was on his feet in the next second, his tail wagging so hard that when it hit Remy’s thigh as the dog turned to walk away, pain seared through the muscles and he cringed. That’d leave a bruise.

Limping, he followed Mozzie into the kitchen where Colby was slaving over the stovetop. Remy’s mouth watered at the mere sight of his back, the dips and hard lines accented by the gym shirt. His waist tapered down to a gorgeous ass, round and muscular, and Remy couldn’t tear his gaze from it. He took two steps into the kitchen before Colby spoke without even turning to look at him.

“What are you doing?”

“I should be asking you that. You can’t keep feeding Mozzie the table scraps.” Remy plastered his chest against the solid back he’d been admiring and curled his arms around Colby’s body. He kissed his neck, noting the sweat that clung to his mate’s skin. Far from bothering him, the smell made his toes curl with want.

“How can I resist that face?” Colby threw the dog another piece of bacon. Mozzie jumped on his hindlegs, snatching it out of the air.
“You’re wrapped around his paw. I can’t imagine what you’d be like with our kids.”

“Isn’t it obvious? I’d be wrapped around their little fingers.” Colby shut off the stove and turned in his arms, dragging him closer. His hands drifted down to squeeze Remy’s ass and he placed a loving kiss on his lips.

“Their?” Remy’s heart fluttered.

Colby squinted at him, his smile growing bigger. “Yeah, their. I’d like more than one.”

“Me too.” He kissed Colby, memorizing Colby’s lips, though he didn’t need to. He knew the shape and touch of Colby’s mouth by heart now and he craved the feel of them against his own all day, every day. He wanted to be consumed and owned by the man in front of him. The only alpha he’d truly give himself over to.

Colby laid his forehead against Remy’s and closed his eyes. “I can’t wait to see you swollen with my child.”

There wasn’t a word to describe how Remy’s heart ached. It’d been six months since Colby’s Rising and his love for his mate hadn’t dwindled. It was still there, stronger than ever.

“Maybe we should start trying?” Remy whispered.

Colby’s eyes flashed opened and they widened. “You’re still at college.”
“I know, but it won’t be long before I finish, and there’s no guarantee I’ll fall pregnant immediately. If I do, we can handle it, right? I’ve seen pregnant omegas at school.” He liked the idea of swelling with Colby’s child, craved it even. It’d been a year since he returned to Dog Hills. He was safe, they all were, and it was thanks to Colby. “If you want to.”

“I do,” Colby said quickly. His grin was blinding. “I’d really like to try.”

“Let’s try then.” Remy snuggled against him, burying his face into Colby’s neck and inhaling his scent, before he took a couple of steps back. He grinned wickedly. “But first you have to catch me.”

Colby’s brows knitted together, but it only lasted a few seconds. He smirked and took a step forward, but Remy had already spun on his heel, heading toward the back yard with his alpha hot on ass.

Remy managed to get halfway across the yard before Colby’s arms snaked around his waist and he was lifted into the air. He grunted and kicked at Colby, but his hold was tight and soon they were crashing to the ground, Remy in a fit of laughter.

Colby shoved Remy’s wrists to the grass on either side of his head as he maneuvered himself on top of him. With Colby’s weight on his legs and his grip on his wrists, Remy had nowhere to go. That didn’t stop him from struggling though, laughter still bubbling from his lips.

“Do you concede?” Colby teased, his lips curving up on one side.

“Never!” Remy shouted, bucking his hips to try and knock Colby off. It failed dramatically. Colby was too heavy, and Remy didn’t stand a chance.

“Admit defeat.” As if he was showing off, Colby pushed Remy’s hands above his head and switched his hold to one hand, using the other to run his fingers down Remy’s clothed chest.

“No!”

Colby’s fingers touched a sensitive part of Remy, just below his armpit, near his ribs, and an embarrassing giggle burst out of Remy.

They both halted in surprise, Colby’s brows hiking high. “Did you just make that noise?”

“No!” Remy felt the heat rise in his cheeks. Damn it. He did.

“You did so.” Colby laughed, his fingers striking the same area.

Remy squirmed, pressing his lips together to stop the sound from escaping again. The tickling was unbearable, and it felt like ants crawling along the length of his spine. He hated it, especially when another weird noise left his throat. “Stop it!”

“Make me.” Colby’s lips ran along his jaw, tracing his skin with soft, teasing kisses before his teeth found Remy’s earlobe. “Beg me.”

Remy’s teeth caught his lower lip and he pressed closer to Colby. “Please, alpha.”

“Please what?” Colby’s grip tightened on his wrists and his breathing deepened. “What do you want?”

“Stop tickling me.” Remy grinned. “Or you won’t get laid tonight.”
Colby’s eyes twinkled knowingly. “You can’t resist me.” His fingers dug into the ticklish spot again and his hand released Remy’s wrists. Both of his fingers went to work on either side of Remy’s ribs and no matter how loud Remy shouted as he twisted and turned to get out of Colby’s reach, he didn’t get far.

“You want out?” Colby asked over Remy’s cries of mercy. “Tap out.”
Remy laughed and arched his back, his knee digging into Colby’s thigh, a little too close to his crotch. He slammed his hand on the grass.
Colby shook his head. “Three times. Tap out three times.”

Remy growled, but it came out higher pitched than he expected as the fingers dug into that torturous spot again. He slammed his hand on the grass again, but this time he made sure to do it three times.
Much to his relief, the torment stopped as soon as his palm hit the ground the third time.

“That wasn’t so hard, was it?” Colby teased.

Remy shoved his shoulder, but Colby barely budged. “You’re an asshole.”
“You’re the one who wanted to play this game.” He leaned closer and Remy met him halfway with a kiss.

“You’re lucky I love you.”

Colby devoured his lips and consumed his passion through a kiss so deep that Remy felt the electric shock right down to the tips of his toes.

“I love you too, baby,” Colby whispered against his lips. “Let’s try for that baby.”

“Yeah.” Remy grinned, excitement blooming in his chest. “Let’s get to work.”

The Alpha’s Scarred Mate is a gay romance novel set in an omegaverse with alpha, beta, and omega dynamics. This world also features wolf shifters, knotting, and themes of male pregnancy (mpreg). This second chance love story is part of a series, but has a HFN ending with no cheating.

***While mpreg is possible in this world, this book does NOT contain an mpreg storyline. However, book #1.5 (The Alpha’s Birthday Gift) does, and The Alpha’s Scarred Mate contains a link to the free story.***

Loving Kit

When most people think about MPreg stories two things come to mind. Shifters and Omegaverse.  These are the two main sub-genres of MPreg and they are both wildly popular.

But there is also the red-headed stepchild of the genre – aliens.

In any poll or discussion about favourite MPreg worlds to read about, you can guarantee that aliens will always come in last place.

I am a huge fan of both the paranormal and sci-fi genres, but after writing so many paranormal stories of the non-MPreg variety, it was only natural that I would want a change now and gravitated towards the sci-fi and alien genre.

In fact, the initial concept for Loving Kit didn’t have anything to do with MPreg at all.  The story had initially intended to be a ménage story about a human who woke from cryogenic sleep to find he had lost his ship and people, but was found by aliens who had evolved into humanoid bipeds much as humans had, but rather than having primates as their ancient ancestors, they had other animals such as cats, dogs, and birds.

That concept remained, but the MPreg came later, after I had stumbled across an article about regular kitty cats who are born with both male and female genitals.  Yes, they do actually exist right here on Earth.  Now, one of the articles I read was about an owner of a male cat, who they discovered was pregnant. At first they thought they had simply been misinformed about the gender of their pet, and only later discovered that the kitty was both male and female. Now, this is very rare, and for the most part it seems that one or both of the sex organs is not fully functional in these animals, but there are reports of some that are truly both male and female.

So, there I was, after falling down this particular rabbit hole with the inkling of a new idea – we’ve all been there, when you click on one article and then another and another, and before you know it, you’re reading about something totally irrelevant to what you started out looking for… but that is where all the best plot bunnies lurk.

Since one of my aliens was a member of a species who had evolved from felines, the idea of having the males of that race able to carry young wasn’t a huge leap of imagination.

Thus, my dual-gendered felines were born.

My felines are – I hope – unique amongst the MPreg stories out there, so how about I tell you all a little more about them, and maybe you will find that aliens can be just as intriguing to read about as the shifters and omegas.

The dual-gendered felines are relatively new amongst their kind. Around eighty years prior to the time of the stories a sickness swept through the females leaving many of them unable to conceive.  The cure to the illness resulted in an unexpected side-effect which was only discovered when the next generation was born… felines born both male and female, known as dual-gendered amongst their kind.

Up until maturity there is no way of telling whether a dual-gendered feline will become male or female dominant.  They are known as pre-determined, have their own unique pronouns, and are often given gender neutral names so as to save on confusion later in life if the parents have mistakenly anticipated the incorrect dominant gender of their offspring.

It doesn’t matter whether the dual-gendered feline is male or female dominant, both are equally fertile when it comes to having children, which results in pregnant males.

When they are pregnant, the male felines find that their female hormones become more dominant so that they can not only carry, but also nourish their young babies.  Yes, my male papas also temporarily develop breasts and breastfeed their little ones.  I know this isn’t wildly popular amongst readers in the genre, but as you have probably already gathered, I have never been one to follow the crowd when it comes to my writing.

Of course, my felines share the most important thing with the rest of the MPreg stories.  They are males who wish to raise their babies with loving mates.  They may be aliens in body, but their hearts are just the same as those of humans.

I have had a great deal of fun putting together the world of my felines and hope that readers will enjoy visiting that universe.  The alien MPreg stories may not be the most popular, but within sci-fi there is a great deal of scope for expansion to come up with new ideas to keep the genre fresh, for those who are looking for something just a little bit different from the rest.

When Your Characters Want Something Different and You Don’t!

When I started writing I followed what most authors did, I tried to plot. Notice the word plot is emphasized because as hard as I might have tried it did not work out the way it was supposed to.  I tried following the guidelines and I felt constrained by the process. I went completely left when according to my outline I should have gone right. I commend authors who are able to plot out each aspect of their work in progress or upcoming novels. They are able to stay focused on what they want their plot to be and how their books will eventually turn out.

Some might refer to authors like myself as rule breakers because we like flying by the seat of our pants, rather than following a set format. We allow our characters to take charge and guide us. I can already hear the question.

Q: Gia are you saying writers who follow a plotline do not let their characters run free?
A: Hell, no. What I’m saying is that those authors are a bit more structured and so are their characters.

I’m sure that even authors who plot out their work break from the norm every now and then and simply let things happen the way they are supposed. No matter how hard we might try to reign in our characters, they seem to take on a life of their own. Case in point, with my new release Ryland’s Inferno, I tried once again to plot out this book because I wanted the second book to be just as good or better than the first. I had notes upon notes for the plot and what was going to take place. I imagined the story in a completely different way than how it turned out in the end. After fighting with my characters for months I gave up and let them guide me.

So, far Blayze was the hardest character to write because there were so many elements to him. His constant refusal to see Ryland as his mate was a bone of contention for me. And as much as I wanted him to admit what was happening between him and Ryland, he refused to allow me the freedom to do so. Also, Blayze’s pregnancy was supposed to happen a lot sooner because it was what I wanted and not what my character wanted. In the end, I am very proud and happy with how Ryland’s Inferno turned out. I fell in love with both characters just as much as I did with Duncan and Jordan.

Giovanna (Gia) Reaves is my alter ego, who is a dreamer. I spend my days and nights dreaming and thinking of the worlds I want to create with words. I started writing about three years ago, when I was introduced to the world of fan fiction. I loved the idea of creating a new world around characters that people already knew about. And ones that are original of my own making. I have written two novels and a few free stories.
I am a mother, wife, and a military veteran. I enjoy trying new things such as traveling, cooking, and reading. I try to incorporate some of the things I have experienced into my books.

Currently living in Newport, RI with my two favorite men. If I am not hidden in my cave writing, I love to read and spend time with my hubby and son. I love listening to R and B along with neo soul when I am writing. When I'm not writing, I am trying to perfect my baking and decorating skills or try to pick up something new. I love spending time with my husband and son playing video games and traveling.

John Solo: Why do you narrate Mpgreg?

“Fortunes, forecasts, lucky charms!  Step right up, step right up!!! Get your dream job here!”

OK, I’d love to have my dream job!  “Voice acting careers!

Step right up!!!”

Mom always told me I have a great voice…   I could do that!room

“Come one, come all!  Work from home, be your own boss!”

Stay at home all day? Don’t have that jerk of a supervisor?  Tell me more...

“All you have to do is read!”

I can read!!!

“How do you feel about men getting pregnant?”

Ummm… say that again?

Let’s take a step back.  Allow me introduce myself.  I’m John Solo and I narrate Mpreg books (we should probably have meetings that we all go to so we can talk about this sort of thing...).  Well, I also narrate other genres as well, but lately I’ve been seeing a lot of this particular genre come across my desk.  Mpreg books, for those of you that don’t know, are male male romance novels that present an alternate reality that includes male pregnancy.  In the last 5 years these have hopscotched straight over “fad” to a permanent staple of many romance readers diets. On any given day, one, if not several, are present in Amazon's top twenty gay romance charts.

I get asked frequently, “Why do you narrate mpreg?”  Well, I never actually went to a job fair that had a carnival barker selling careers in audiobook production.  No, in fact, even becoming a voice actor in the first place was a complete accident for me. But (only one “t” there ladies and gents… and gents) narrating mpreg came along in the natural progression of my career.

It all started when I was a young man… (insert Scooby Doo flashback music and blurry lines to indicate the fade out).  When I was a child I wanted to be a musician. Music led me to audio engineering, audio engineering and a love of books led me to audio books, audio books led me to narration, narration led to romance, romance led to mm romance, and mm romance led to mpreg.  (that whole paragraph felt a bit too much like Deuteronomy to me, so I removed several “begats”).

I have found that the genre as a whole has a very familiar feel to me.  After all, I’ve narrated close to 100 mm romance novels. Love is love, right?  The challenging aspect, and by far the one that keeps me coming back for more (aside from the money, ‘cause I like money) is the addition of children.  Lots and lots of children. Don’t get me wrong, voicing a bunch of childrens’ voices is not the easiest thing for a man my age to do, but it comes with the territory.  More importantly, there is a core family element with this type of book that is not always present in a typical romance book.

By their very nature, most of these stories center around two men (maybe more than two… it’s the 21st century, roll with it) that fall in love and have a child together.  The emotions that are involved in acting out a family scene are a new kind of challenge for me. I mean, I was raised as the youngest of four siblings, so I didn’t have to dig too deeply to come up with inspiration!  But the inner workings of a family, with all of the intricacies and complexities of multiple personalities bouncing and clashing off of one another… well, it’s a nearly infinite treasure trove of emotional material for an actor to play with!

I often find new readers to the genre a bit skeptical at first.  I assure you, I know exactly how you feel! The concept of men having babies is, well… it ain’t natural, is it?  But, from one romance reader to another, let me give you a tip (just the tip). If you like mm romance, and you like the backdrop of family, this genre may very well be your new guilty pleasure.
Stick your toe in and test it first.  I can assure you, the water is fine!

John Solo has been a professional performer for 20 years, although this whole acting thing is a relatively new development. Prior to all of this he made his living as a salesman, engineer, security guard, mechanic, construction worker, purveyor of polyester dress suits… The list goes on ad nauseam, but he prefers to think of himself as an Itinerant Adventurer and lovable scoundrel! When not acting like someone else in front of a microphone, John prefers to indulge in the simpler things in life; games of chance, sword-fighting and traveling the world… all from the comforts of his own overstuffed couch.

Where Do You Get Your Mpreg?

6/27/2018

Picture
Back in the days before authors began publishing Mpreg novellas and novels on Amazon, the wider internet was the place to go for Mpreg stories.

As a romance subgenre that arose, in part, from fanfiction (especially slash fiction), it wasn’t until recently that Mpreg became mainstream enough to show up in online bookstores.  Now, though, you can find Mpreg not only in fanfiction sites—and in forums on its own sites, like http://mpregcentral.net —but also in virtually every bookstore that sells ebooks.

In my last blog post, I discussed why Mpreg matters as part of developing a culture that accepts masculine emotion and gentleness.

That significance is, I think, why Mpreg needs to be even more available—readers need to be able to find Mpreg stories on websites, in bookstores, and in reading apps.

That’s why I’ve recently started taking my Mpreg fiction wide—each book will be available in KU for several months, and then it’ll be available in other formats. And as part of that move, I’ve started putting my Mpreg books up on the Radish Fiction app. You can download the app for free and start reading immediately!

So far, I’ve started loading Mated by the Mountain Lion and Alpha Hunter onto the Radish Fiction app—and both of those stories are getting makeovers so we can spend more time with the omegas while they’re pregnant and with the babies after they’re born! And I’m delighted to see that other authors are doing the same—we’re working to make Mpreg mainstream!

So tell me in the comments: What is your favorite kind of Mpreg? What platform do you use to read most of your Mpreg stories?

Mpreg Pride: Why Pregnant Men Matter?

6/11/2018

Picture
When I tell other authors that I write Mpreg, I often get blank looks. Then, after I explain what that means, I usually get giggles. And lots and lots of questions. But the biggest question I get is: why? Why write stories about pregnant men?

I’ve been thinking about that quite a bit lately. I mean, we all know why we love to read Mpreg—the loving relationships between two men, the sweetness and joy of adding a baby to a family…

But why are stories like this important?

The American philosopher Richard Rorty believed that the greatest value of literature was its ability to help readers develop empathy for other people—that people could develop compassion for others through learning to have compassion for characters.

That literary ability to teach compassion is, I think, why Mpreg stories matter. We live in a culture that often does not value masculine gentleness or the role of men in families. But by creating stories that are about male couples creating families—loving men who are passionate and kind and caring to one another and to their children—I am, I believe, helping normalize all-male families, gay parenthood, and masculine love.

And that, I think, is one of the most important things I can contribute to the world as an author: more compassion. More love. And always, more pregnant men.

How I Came Up With An MMMM Mpreg Romance.

How I Came Up With An MMMM Mpreg Romance. . .

To be honest, I hadn’t planned on writing mpreg. Not that I had anything against it, absolutely not. I loved reading it (I still do), but I’d been focused on writing contemporary steamy MM romances.
Then a post in my reader group on Facebook led to me and my readers lamenting how few truly good polyamorous gay romances had been written. I’d written two myself—one with a threesome and one with a complicated open relationship—but it was hard to find good MM romances with more than three main characters.

One of my readers joked that I should write one…and my brain started plotting. I wanted four men, and I wanted them to come together out of necessity, not through an accidental meet. I started thinking, what if one had a medical issue and needed the other’s help? I liked that idea, so I went with it, but then I ran into trouble. Because once one guy had helped the other one, what prevented him from walking away? Why would all four need each other?

The idea of fated mates popped into my head…and that’s when it hit. It was like the puzzle pieces all fell into place. It had to be an mpreg. A medical issue that an omega struggled with…an omega who already had a lover, a beta, but who needed an alpha. An alpha doctor who wanted to help but couldn’t (for reasons I won’t spoil), so he asked his best friend. Four men connected…and then fate intervened in a way they never saw coming.

That’s how Alpha’s Sacrifice was born…but since I rarely do things like everyone else, I decided to add a few more twists and turns, including some suspense elements and a world that’s between omegaverse and shifter.

Alpha’s Sacrifice is not a classic mpreg romance, and it’s definitely not a fluffy, insta-love read. It’s a slow-build romance between four men who are discovering things about themselves and each other they never fathomed. It ends with a massive cliffhanger, but…the good news is that the sequel, Alpha’s Submission was just released.

These two books form merely the beginning of the Irresistible Omegas series, which will contain at least three more books, but possible more. I honestly can’t tell, because I had planned to make it three books, but then all these characters started telling me they wanted a love story as well, so now we’ll see, haha.

Book three (untitled as of yet) will have a new love story (for those who have already read the first two books: it’s a threesome of Grayson, Lars, and Sven) but will also continue the bigger storylines in the previous books, and we’ll keep checking in with our foursome. If you’ve read my No Shame series (contemporary romances), you’ll recognize that’s what I did there as well.

If the pregnancy is the thing you love most about mpregs, book three will make you happy ‘cause that’s where we’ll see that happen. I’m super excited about this series, and I still have a ton of ideas for plot twists and turns, so I’m not running out of steam anytime soon. The wonderful reviews for Alpha’s Sacrifice (109 reviews right now on Amazon US with a 4.9 average) and Alpha’s Submission (50 so far, with also a 4.9 average) are super encouraging to keep writing!

Nora Phoenix

Would you like the long or the short version of my bio? The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that? A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self-doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken…but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self-help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

Why Mpreg?

I've been asked since I released my first book, why mpreg? And my answer is always the same. Why not? I get that mpreg is not part of reality, but I'm a fiction writer and love to bend the boundaries just as much as the next writer.  I will start out by saying when I first started writing it was not my intention to write mpreg storylines it simply happened. Will I continue to write mpreg stories as I improve as a writer? I'm not sure.  I cannot predict what I will be writing next. I get it; I really do, not everyone is into reading or writing mpreg. What it all boils down to is imagination and what if's.

What if we lived in a world where both men and woman could get pregnant? I look at things this way if we can imagine the possibility of a man or woman shifting into an animal why can't we view men getting pregnant as just another possibility.  Fiction is a vast world of what if's. I understand that at times there are some truths to fiction, but as writers, we build the world we would want to live in sharing it with readers who would also want to be apart of it. Some readers stumbled into mpreg and realized that it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. Just as real life can put things into our path and give us a better understanding of why things happen, so can the books we read. Now, I do not proclaim to be some all knowing mythical person; I honestly believe I live in the fiction world more often than reality. Which is why I find mpreg so interesting to read and as well write. I have a strange motto, as long as it's not illegal and will not be detrimental to my health I'll give something a no thank you chance. If I like it, I stick with it, and if I don't at least, I  gave it a chance before saying no thank you.

Please understand that this is not my way to sway or encourage anyone reading this to dash over to Amazon and purchase a mpreg book; I'm merely stating my obsession with the sub-genre.

Giovanna (Gia) Reaves is my alter ego, who is a dreamer. I spend my days and nights dreaming and thinking of the world's I want to create with words. I started writing about three years ago, when I was introduced to the world of fan fiction. I loved the idea of creating a new world around characters that people already knew about. And ones that are original of my own making. I have written two novels and a few free stories.

I am a mother, wife and a military veteran. I enjoy trying new things such as; traveling, cooking and reading. I try to incorporate some of the things I have experienced into my books.

Currently, living in Newport RI , with my two favorite men. If I am not hidden in my cave writing, I like to read and spend time with my hubby and son. I love listening to R and B along with Neo soul when I am writing. When I'm not writing I am trying to perfecting my baking and decorating skills or try to pick up something new. I love spending time with my husband and son playing video games and traveling.

I love the Winter Olympics. I look forward to them coming around every four years, much more than the Summer Olympics. Why? Because I grew up and still live in the great white north of the upper midwest.  Snow has fallen October to May before so there are only four months that you can guarantee there won't be snow. So the winter sports are exciting to me and I've tried several of them.

I used to figure skate until our coach moved three hours south.  I stopped at Freestyle 1 which is learning spins and jumps.  It's the first skating class where you have to skate to music to pass.  Figure skating in the Olympics is always watched by me, since I know it so well and because I miss it and wish I had been able to continue skating.  It's such a beautiful and difficult sport. If anyone asks who my favorite figure skater is, I would say the English ice dancing pair of Torvill & Dean from the 1984 Olympics.  That was such an event changing skate.  I had chills watching it live.  Stunning, beautiful, mesmerizing.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2zbbN4OL98

I hadn't followed the figure skaters before the 2018 Winter Olympics, until Adam Rippon suddenly shot to fame with a tweet by Reese Witherspoon.  What kept Adam Rippon in the spotlight was his sassy, funny, positive, honest, handsome self.  He was born for stardom.  And so inspiration struck.  What if an Olympic figure skater met someone at the Olympics?  I kicked around the idea and decided he'd meet a snowboarder.  But then I was reminded about the upcoming royal wedding with the British monarchy.  How about a prince instead of a snowboarder?  And what country should the prince be from? It had to be Sweden.

I've had a slight obsession with Sweden since stumbling across Henrik Lundqvist in the list of the 2010 Winter Olympic's hottest athletes.  If you currently are not obsessed with him, let me help you out. He's from Sweden, is the New York Rangers starting goalie, is ridiculously handsome, is a super nice guy.  So I've been in love with Sweden since then.  The more I've found out about the country, the more I love it.  So Prince Henrik, I had to name my prince that, could be from no other country than Sweden.

My characters in the book, Jeff and Henrik, were inspired by real life people but I definitely made my own characters with their own quirks.  I also made up the Swedish royal family, even though they have one, the royals in my book are fictional.  The landmarks in the book are real though such as Stockholm Cathedral, the Royal Palace and Drottningholm Palace.  There really is a blue princely mantle, prince's coronet, throne and throne room.  I want to travel to Sweden even worse now.  I'll add Stockholm to the list of cities I want to visit other than Gothenburg, where Henrik Lundqvist played professional hockey before getting drafted by the NY Rangers.  I told you I was obsessed.

Omega's Prince is my fifth book.  It's amazing to me that I'm writing that statement because publishing three novels and two novellas since October is quite stunning.  Writing was not my career until September when I got laid off from my computer job of over five years.  I had written short stories a few years ago, and kept in touch with authors, so I wasn't completely out of the loop.  When I thought of applying for another job, working for someone else, earning them money for 8 hours and then trying to write at night at home, well I just couldn't do it.  So I rage quit the corporate world.

All of my books are humorous and include crazy things that have happened to me in real life.  When you can be sure that when you pick up one of my books, you're going to be entertained!

Always daydreaming and making up stories in her head, Bella didn't write her first novel until 2017.

Bella has a Computer Science degree, but that doesn't hold a candle to her true love of reading. She has a cat, a corgi, hates doing cleaning, and loves playing video games.

Bella loves sexy men and a happily ever after romance. Happy reading!

Author Quinn Michaels Inspiration

We asked Quinn Michaels to tell us what inspired her to write Omega's Shadow, her new action-packed Mpreg novel.

I've always been a misfit. I grew up going to Star Trek conventions (playing laser tag in the hallways...super fun!) well before such things were socially acceptable. I got more than my fair share of teasing because I was always a touch out of step with what was supposed to be cool or interesting.

Because I’ve never quite fit in, I tend to write stories about other misfits. Shadow, the alpha hero of Omega Shadow, is more of a stay quiet and listen than take charge kind of alpha (though he can and does take charge when he it’s necessary.) Unlike most alphas, he’s also not particularly interested in leading a pack. He doesn't really know what he wants, and given a choice, he'd rather keep to the background to figure it out.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t get this luxury when he goes to Blackcreek and meets Kyle. Shadow is instantly attracted, and this attraction only grows as he spends more time with Kyle (and they start sharing dreams.) So much about Kyle is a mystery. Kyle doesn't even know who Kyle is, even though he knows exactly what he wants and is working doggedly to get it. As Kyle is forced to face himself, what he learns puts him and (especially) Shadow in really hot water.

If I say anymore, I'll probably just end up giving away the whole plot so I’m going to leave it.

One thing that was really important to me in this book was showing that there are multiple sides to every story. I wanted to write a villain who you could look at and say, “this person has a point,” even as you know they’re wrong. The best place to do in the Pine Creek Lake world, and the place I knew I’d wanted to go since the first book in the series, was to Gale’s old pack – the one he ran away from. I’d even toyed with telling parts of the book from Gale’s point of view, but ultimately, I wanted to focus on new characters and a new story because I like each book to stand alone.

My favorite part of writing a book is when it takes a sharp left from the outline, and I discover something totally new. That's how I know book is alive. Omega Shadow took sharp lefts and sharp rights, and it grew into something much better than I’d planned. There’s also some really steamy sexytimes!

The best, unexpected surprise for me in the book was how awesome the shifter version of Capture the Flag turned out to be. Just imagine Capture the Flag with Werewolves and Paintball. Nuff said.

Let's Get To Know Quinn Micheals

First and foremost, allow me to answer the question folks may not realize they have on their mind when faced with the name "Quinn Michaels" ~ is this a boy or girl? Or something outside of that dynamic?

To clarify, Quinn Michaels is a light-skinned, cisgender black lady from the great state of Pennsylvania. She has a passion for writing, drawing, painting, karaoke, language learning, sci-fi, and tabletop role-playing games.

In short, Quinn is a total nerd.

How much of a nerd?

Quinn is the geek level who went to sci-fi and anime conventions well before it was cool.

Not nerdy enough for ya?

Quinn is a level of geek who downloaded a book in PDF format about ICBMs and studied it over her one week, high school Christmas break (taking notes, in a spiral notebook that she wishes she could find now,) because it was written by a science-fiction author she liked.

And yes, Quinn has done Renaissance dancing, camped out for the premiere of Star Wars the Phantom Menace, and dressed up as a stewardess in order to see Snakes on a Plane.

(She was almost escorted out of the theater by a bouncer for the last one.)

It is at this point that Quinn decides she's going to stop idiotically referring to herself in the third person. Because it's getting kind of whack.

What got me into writing Mpreg?

I got into Mpreg through fanfiction. I wish I could find the story that first made me think, "Wow! This is neat!" It was in the Sherlock genre, which is my “go to” fic universe. Unfortunately, I think the author has taken the story down because it’s no longer in my bookmarks.

For me, the most exciting part of the Mpreg sub-genre is how it plays with gender norms. As a writer, this leaves you with a lot of room to experiment with story and character. In my heart and deepest core, I am a science-fiction and fantasy writer, and I approach Mpreg as a subset of these speculative genres in my writing.

What’s most fun about mpreg, and about writing anything actually, is the characters. In my upcoming book, my main omega character, Kevin, is a man out of options. He has lost everything, been beat down by life, and the only way out he sees is by faking his own death and going on the run.

But, all of his plans fall apart when he meets Blaze, an alpha spy with secrets of his own. This is a shifter book, and the pack dynamics play a large role in the story. I really felt good about that.

My favorite thing about writing mpreg is no matter how hard the road the characters have to go through, at their core, they are genuinely good people and their love for each other is true.

In Alpha Blaze, both my alpha and omega main characters try to deny their attraction to each other, but as the story progresses, they each discover their individual plans aren’t nearly as powerful as what they can do together. I feel like romance in general is about that kind of synergy. Each person brings themselves, and together, they create (and become) something more.

I know a story is alive when it departs from my outline, and sometimes I think I just write outlines to get the mediocre ideas out of my head before I sit down in front of the real blank page. Alpha Blaze quickly took on its own life. I'd intended to write a 30,000-word novella, and I ended up with a 64,000-word novel. And that's not counting the 6000+ word bonus "baby book" you can download at the end.

What I hope makes my stories interesting is that I work really to make sure that the most important conflict stems from each character's actions and motivations. Beyond that, I just try to make sure I'm telling a story so good readers can't put down. To do this, I have to make sure the story surprises and delights me in some way every time I sit down to write it.

If I can keep myself engaged, I figure that will carry over to other people. If nothing else, to thine own self be true. It's been a wild ride so far.

After Alpha Blaze, my next book is going to use some of my personal history as veterinary technician as a key part of the plot. I'm excited to be able to use this experience as a part of my mpreg writing, and I’m so excited to start this new project!

To Mpreg or not to Mpreg…

First off, big hugs to Giovanna Reaves for having me here today!

I want to share with you my journey to Mpreg. Primarily because I didn’t start out by reading/writing fan fic. Actually, I didn’t even start out writing M/M that way either! So, I guess I’m the freak of the crowd (what else is new?). Let me start off by providing you with a little background on me as both a reader and author.

As Morticia Knight, I’ve been writing and publishing M/M, M/F and LGBT romance since 2011. Beginning 2013, it became M/M romance exclusively. Why? That’s sort of a long story, but essentially, there are only so many hours in a day (much to my chagrin), and I had a very successful M/M series, started a second one that was more a labor of love than a success… anyway, I decided to stick with M/M. The thing with Morticia and her series, though, is that she primarily writes in the genres of BDSM and Men in Uniform. Even the sci-fi and historical stories are BDSM!

But I’ve always loved paranormal. Sci-fi too, but I always envisioned myself writing paranormal when I first started out. Within the last couple years, that wish has become almost overwhelming, but Morticia is a demanding little wench and she currently has three different series in play, so she was of no help to the cause. Then in walks M.M. Wilde, and ta-da! Problem solved.

Where does Mpreg fit in to all of this you may ask? As I mentioned before, I do love sci-fi. A friend of mine had recommended M.A. Church’s Harvest Series, and I was like, I dunno. Mpreg? I’m not sure I’m up for that. I hated that movie with Arnie all preggers, so that was what I had stuck in my head. However, she insisted it was the most amazing series ever, and that I had to read it. Fine. Well, hot damn, she was right! I’ve re-read it at least three times since then. Then, I picked up Ravella Hawthorne, Wolf Specter and a few others and I was sold on the genre.

But that didn’t necessarily mean I was going to write Mpreg… or did it? When I first committed to writing shifters as M.M. Wilde, it wasn’t with the intent of writing Mpreg. The first series I began developing was the Alaskan Wolf Alliance, and that idea was based on my love for Alaska, the wilderness and white wolves. As I was outlining the first story and doing the world-building for Rescued by the Alpha, there came a moment between Nicolai and Elam after Elam is turned, where it was so damn perfect for Mpreg to become the main theme. I even tried to turn away from it, shook my finger at M.M. and said, ‘No! That’s not what you were going to do! Behave yourself’. Yeah… I didn’t win that battle.

So, here I am, with the first book of the Alaskan Wolf Alliance almost finished along with the outlines for two more. And I have to say that I’ve fully embraced the genre and it’s inspired me to come up with even more Mpreg themed stories. Watch for Rescued by the Alpha to be on preorder in May and out in June. Make sure to follow my Facebook page or on Twitter to keep up to date!
