Turn up the heat!
Alpha, Preston is alone. His character has been assassinated by a vicious rumor and he’s been cast out of Austin, forced to work as a farmhand for the last eight years. He’ll never find a mate—he’s accepted it. But one night, on a routine delivery downtown, Preston encounters a scent that turns everything he knows upside down.
Kenneth is also alone. Orphaned. Both parents both dead, he’s packed up everything and is moving to Boston to start fresh. But before he does—he heads to the bar for a quick drink to get his mind off things. One quick drink couldn’t hurt…right?
Preston is floored when he catches the scent of his fated-mate. But the sweet omega is in trouble. He’s been drugged by the very same disgusting alpha who ruined Preston’s life eight years ago. Jasper Vanderton.
Fueled by rage, revenge and the scent of his fated-mate, Preston saves Kenneth from a terrible, life changing experience and rushes him back to the farm. It’s not long before the two realize they’re meant for each other. Preston is determined to put a cub in his belly and bind them together forever, but there’s just one problem--
Jasper has found them. His family is rich and powerful, and they’re going to buy the farm and force them off the land—or worse. Preston has no choice but to act, but how can he, one alpha, go up against the most powerful family in Austin?
…But Preston’s been blessed by a miracle. He’s found his fated-mate and he will do anything to make sure they’re never apart.

Preston was the victim of rich asshole, Jasper. Drugged after refusing to spread his legs for Jasper, Preston soon found himself being falsely accused and vilified for attempted rape of Jasper. He is abandoned by everyone and moved away to work on an isolated farm.
Kenneth is an orphan about to move away. For a last hurrah, he decides to go to a bar and perhaps get rid of his pesky virginity. Unfortunately, he runs into, you guessed it, Jasper. When Kenneth rebuffs Jasper's attentions, Jasper predictably goes to his favorite tactics: drugs. Kenneth is pretty helpless after being drugged and Jasper and his wonderful (can you hear the sarcasm?) friends are happy to take advantage of him.
Jasper is one of those guys. The rich assholes who get away with everything and leave traumatized people in his wake without a care. He's a selfish jerk that reminds me of all those rich assholes who get away with raping women. To say I hated him is an understatement.
Lucky for Kenneth, Preston comes to save him. And BOOM fated mates. Who loves fated mates? I do!
I had to get over the names when I started the book. I dislike the name Preston (sorry) and I have a close relative named Kenneth. Other than the names, I like Preston and Kenneth as a couple. Preston is a good alpha, an honorable one but that doesn't mean he can't get a little kinky, hehe. Spanking, why is it so delicious to read about?
Jasper, of course, tries to ruin Preston and Kenneth's mating. Unless Preston figures out how to protect his mate and his job, they're going to be homeless soon. They need allies and a plan.
I liked this novella but I didn't love it. I liked the characters and hated the villain. The relationship was steamy and tempered with sweetness. It was a quick, enjoyable read. The plot could have been improved and be more memorable with a bit more elements of originality. This novella is a perfect way to end a long, difficult day. A mix of angst, fluff, kink, and love, it's a nice read for when you don't want to think too much.
Hi. My name is Jordan K Prince. I'm an avid reader of MM fiction. I am particularly fond of mpreg; I can never have enough. I'm in the process of writing my first MM novel, mpreg, of course. I live and breathe MM fiction and I enjoy every minute I can spend lost in the worlds I discover there.
