I'm on Beau Brown's ARC team and receive a copy of his books prior to their release. This review will include my Amazon reviews from books 1-4. There is currently 6 books in the series, with the 7th available for preorder. All are available on Kindle Unlimited. All the books are quick reads and it's a great series.

Baby Doctor (Book 1):
Omega Peter Johnson can’t accept that he can’t have babies. Several doctors have told him he’s barren, but he refuses to believe that. After all, there are few things that would be worse news for an omega. He decides to seek the opinion of the premiere fertility specialist in Poppy Field, Dr. Rafe Hexton. Alpha Rafe Hexton isn’t known for his charming bedside manner. But he’s the best at what he does. When he delivers devastating news to Peter in an uncaring and blunt manner, Peter sets him straight right before he storms out of his office. When the two men meet at a club one night, Peter ends up in Rafe’s bed. While Peter may not necessarily like Rafe, he can’t deny how attracted he is to the alpha. Rafe is equally drawn to the younger omega, and finds Peter’s infertility a plus in his book. He’s not interested in having kids. But just as the alpha and omega come to a mutually satisfying arrangement, fate steps in and changes the game. This 38,000 word story is a contemporary non-shifter Mpreg romance with steamy scenes and lots of warm feels. Rating: Four cups I loved the beginning. The hate to love theme is something I enjoy. Rafe is absolutely a heartless jerk at their first meeting. Peter is trying to deal with the fact he's never going to have children, his greatest wish. He is at a place where he thinks he's going to be alone forever. Who wants a barren omega? Rafe, that's who. It starts with sex and sort of evolves from there. Rafe is a jerk more than once but the author always comes back with Rafe opening up and making him likable and endearing. Rafe is the kind of character that can go wrong and have readers hate him. I've read a book that gets it wrong but this one gets it right. Rafe reads like a love virgin, he's adorably confused by feelings and love. Sure, he shoots off his mouth and digs himself into a deep, deep hole but in the end, he is man enough to admit he's wrong and apologize. I really enjoyed the book and the author's style of writing. I look forward to book two in the series. ![]()
Cowboy's Omega (Book 2):
Alpha Lex and omega Stewart shared an instant, passionate attraction to each other when Lex stood up for the omega when a bar patron was hassling him. After spending the night together, they make plans to meet up the next day. But when Lex cancels, and gives no real explanation other than he's leaving the country, Stewart has no choice but to put the promising romance behind him. When Lex returns to Poppy Field eight months later, he wants to rekindle things with Stewart. But Stewart isn't ready to jump into anything with the secretive cowboy. He knows Lex is the kind of alpha he could settle down with, and that's exactly what Stewart is looking to do; settle down. But how can he trust his heart to Lex, when the cowboy might leave town again on a moment's notice? What is Lex hiding that makes it so hard for him to commit? This 30,000 word story is Book 2 in Beau Brown's new Poppy Field Mpreg Series. Lots of fun, steamy, heart warming pages await you, and a HEA is always guaranteed. Rating: Four cups The first thing I can say is read book one first. I read several books in between book one and two and at first, it felt a bit like I was jumping into chapter three of a story I didn't remember reading. I had to stop and think about it to remember the characters' interactions in the first book. You'll get the most enjoyment by reading book one then immediately going to this one. Trust is the issue between these two men, trust and communication. Lex started things by leaving without explanation. Stewart doesn't trust Lex to stay. Communicating more would have helped make things easier for them both but that's how relationships work. People let fear and doubt and suspicion build up instead of talking. I enjoyed when they actually talked, it was the moment I had been waiting for. Lex is a sweet alpha and he and Stewart are made for each other. I enjoyed this story and I think you will too ![]()
Baby Donor (Book 3):
Omega Ace Hamilton has a horrible case of baby fever. Working as a receptionist at a fertility clinic only makes things worse because he sees pregnant omegas day in and day out. It’s agony watching those happy couples glowing with excitement, when the odds of him ever having a baby are slim to none. He could never afford the artificial insemination procedure, and no alpha will ever get him pregnant the old fashioned way because his younger brother was born with a birth defect. Ace is considered damaged goods by default. Alpha Wyatt Williams is a donor at the fertility clinic where Ace works. The sexy receptionist catches Wyatt’s eye, and when Ace shares his sad predicament, Wyatt offers to help him out by giving him a baby the natural way. Wyatt doesn’t admit it, but he’s thrilled at the idea of sleeping with the irresistible omega. However, Wyatt makes it clear he wants nothing to do with the pregnancy or the baby after the deed is done. Ace really wants a baby and he really wants to sleep with the sexy alpha too. But he’s not sure whether he’ll be able to keep his feelings out of the equation. What he truly wants is a real family of his own, complete with an alpha and a baby too. This is a sweet and sexy, contemporary, non-shifter love story with mpreg and a HEA ending. Though part of the Poppy Field Mpreg Series, this standalone story does not need to be read as part of the series. Rating: Four cups Although this is the third in the series, it isn't necessary to have read the first two to enjoy this story. Due to his brother's deformity, Ace hasn't found an alpha willing to mate and have children with him. He really wants a baby. Rich alpha Wyatt isn't looking a real relationship any time in the near future. However, donating is something he's willing to do. Fate has other plans, their attraction is immediate but everything isn't sunshine and rainbows for the pair. Wyatt is pretty clueless when it comes to love. This story was a quick, enjoyable read with steamy sex, a bit of angst, and sweetness. ![]()
Alpha's Secret Baby (Book 4):
Fireman Garrett Livingston could probably have any omega he wants. The problem is he isn’t out of the closet yet. Anyone he beds has to promise to keep his secret. That works out just fine so long as he just wants to sleep around and have fun. But nothing is ever that easy, right? When Garrett meets Chip Sorenson, he falls hard and fast. The problem is, Chip isn’t going to waste his time on an alpha that doesn’t know what he wants. Chip is ready to settle down and have babies. But if Garrett can’t admit to his family and friends who he really is, they have no future. As heartbreaking as it is, Chip breaks things off with Garrett. But just as he thinks maybe he’s ready to move on and start a life with another alpha, he discovers he’s pregnant with Garrett’s baby. This is a sweet and sexy, contemporary, non-shifter love story with mpreg and a HEA ending. Though part of the Poppy Field Mpreg Series, this standalone story does not need to be read as part of the series. Rating: Five cups I was prepared not to like this story. The basis is angsty, Chip being Garrett's little secret for over a year while hoping for more and being let down again and again. I'm not someone that seeks out angsty books but still, I couldn't stop reading this story. I almost finished it in one sitting but the last part had to wait until I was done with work. While Garrett did win me over, I didn't like him at the start. I had sympathy for his situation but not for the way he kept stringing Chip along. The more I saw him struggle, the more my heart went out to him. I was drawn into Chip and Garrett's story in a way I didn't expect but I can't complain. This is another great story in the series and I definitely recommend it! |
