Mpreg Obsession: Tell us about yourself. Can include your writing, academic or professional background, or even something personal.
Summer: Here’s me talking about me in the third person: Summer Chase loves naughty boys, and she loves them even more when they turn out to be nice guys, too. She's the pen name for a New York Times bestselling author who wanted to have another name like a superhero.
For something personal, my first crush was Leonardo. The turtle.
Mpreg Obsession: What inspired you to write in the Mpreg sub genre?
Summer: Admittedly, curiosity drove me to pick up my first Mpreg. Then I realized what a great universe Mpregs were—that there are no boundaries to families and gender roles are shared in ways I’ve never imagined before. It’s made me a better writer, which I will always appreciate.
Mpreg Obsession: What inspired you to write this story?
Summer: Honestly, the title came to me before anything else, and I just ran with it. I totally love Edwin and Jacques, though!
Mpreg Obsession: What makes your story and/or characters unique and interesting?
Summer: The French aspect! I now totally get why French is considered romantic. I had to do a bunch of research to use French phrases.
Mpreg Obsession: What are you planning to write next?
Summer: Check out The Back-Up Date, another book in the Vale Valley Valentine’s series, written with my good friend Trisha Linde.
Mpreg Obsession: What type of research do you do for your work?
Summer: I like to challenge myself and learn something as I write. For Je T’Aime, that was learning some French.
Mpreg Obsession: What author would you like to co-author with? Why?
Summer: I’m going to put Trisha Linde, as she and I have a book coming out in four days! I think you’ll love it!
Mpreg Obsession: Who is your favorite character you've ever written?
Summer: I always love the kids in Mpregs. They seem to pick up on things before the adults do, and I think they’re testament to how these families truly do work out.
Mpreg Obsession: Do you read while writing? Why or why not?
Summer: I do! I try not to read in the same genre though, but I do read for the inspiration.
Mpreg Obsession: What was your first writing experience like?
Summer: I’ve written ever since I was nine. I can’t imagine NOT writing.
Mpreg Obsession: What's your writing schedule like?
Summer: Insane! That’s all I have to say. Insane!
